Reiki Audio is excited to announce the new JundoUSB Reference USB cable. Continuing our mission to transform the sound quality of streamed music, JundoUSB draws on everything we learned in developing the JundoStream. The cable architecture ensures consistent separation of the JundoUSB’s power and signal conductors along its entire length, delivering unrivalled sound quality all the way to your DAC.
Since day one, we have been forensically focused on stopping conducted, radiated and generated RFI noise from reaching the DAC where its impact on sound quality manifests itself. Our focus to date has been on ensuring the cleanest possible signal reaches the streamer; extending our proven approach to the other side of the streamer is an important part of our mission to transform streamed audio. Building on the experience, materials and construction painstakingly developed for the groundbreaking JundoStream, the JundoUSB offers a dedicated and fully optimized response to the challenges of USB audio connection from streamer to DAC.
Outwardly similar to the JundoStream, JundoUSB uses a completely different topology and dedicated terminations to ensure optimum performance in USB applications. USB data transmission benefits from consistent spacing not of twisted pairs from one another but of the signal path from the power and ground paths. Reiki Audio’s innovative spaced construction separates the conductors, providing consistent spacing of signal, ground and power conductors across the entire length of the cable, allowing us to use optimum twist rates in each conductor pair, ensuring the best possible noise rejection.
Close attention has been paid to the quality of materials used in this class-leading USB cable: multi-layered conductors with multiple shields and mechanical damping are combined with directional grounding, acrylic (non-conductive) cable combs and ceramic coated, copper lined plug cases to further optimize performance.
Termination is USB A to USB B. Unlike the JundoStream, the plugs are not angled at 45 degrees, as USB ports are rarely packed as closely as Ethernet connections, so masking of adjacent ports is not usually a problem. We hope to be able to offer USB C termination shortly.
footnote: we have no intention of extending beyond the DAC into the analogue domain, a market that is more than adequately served by other specialist providers.
All our cables are assembled, tested and packed in our own workshops in central England. The manufacturing process for the JundoUSB relies on skilled humans rather than machines and is as labor-intensive as you’d expect; it takes a skilled technician almost half a day to assemble and test a single JundoUSB reference cable. It’s a labor of love and the sonic results speak for themselves.
